LB-010 El Corazon Gose
Our first adventure into a brew from Germany dating to the 15th century which is exempt from the German purity brew laws. This ale has become a Luddite standard.
Always quick to jump on themes that emerge during the brew day. This was the first public outing by "Minor Infarction" (later renamed as the "Humble Imbiber") following his event. We were glad to be part of the recovery while, concurrently, taking full advantage of the label design opportunity!
Gose is a warm fermented beer that originated in Goslar, Germany. It is usually brewed with at least 50% of the grain bill being malted wheat. Dominant flavours in gose include a lemon sourness, a herbal characteristic, and a strong saltiness (the result of either local water sources or added salt).
Brewed on April 16, 2012 and kegged on April 30, 2012. You can view the recipe here.
